Turbo Chook Games

An indie studio built on passion, late nights, and an unhealthy amount of chaos. We make the kind of games we'd want to play — fast, fun, and full of personality.

Our Story

Turbo Chook Games started with a simple idea: just make games. No grand plan, no big team — just a developer, a game engine, and the drive to build something fun.

It all began in 2021 with Unity, experimenting and learning the ropes of game development from scratch. In 2023 the switch was made to Godot, where small project games started taking shape — including Extreme Racer, a racing game built in just 4 hours as a game jam challenge. That project proved something important: a great core mechanic beats everything else.

Protocol Z came next: a zombie survival game with building, crafting, and multiplayer. It took months of tinkering to get it where it is today, learning Godot inside-out along the way.

The plan going forward? Keep making games. Keep experimenting. Keep having fun. More projects are in the pipeline, and the best is yet to come.

The Developer

Hi — I'm Chickenking9080, the solo developer behind Turbo Chook Games. I'm based in Australia and I'm a hobbyist game developer with a passion for retro-inspired games, Godot, and building things from scratch.

I first began game developing in 2021 on Unity and switched to Godot in 2023 where I made small project games — eventually releasing Extreme Racer (built in a 4-hour game jam) and then Protocol Z, a full zombie survival experience.

I enjoy every part of the process — designing gameplay loops, writing code, creating pixel art, and sharing the finished product with whoever wants to play it. Every game is a new challenge and a new thing to learn.

When I'm not making games, I'm usually watching game dev content, playing games for "research purposes", or plotting the next project.

What We Make

We focus on making games that are easy to pick up but hard to put down. Right now that means:

Survival games — build, craft, fight, survive. Protocol Z is the blueprint for this genre in the Turbo Chook catalogue.

Arcade games — fast, score-chasing, reflex-testing fun. Extreme Racer is the first of many.

More genres are on the horizon. The goal is always the same: make something fun, ship it, and keep learning.
